Could your business be part of the solution?

All organisations that hope to be successful in the 2020s and beyond must transition to low-carbon sustainable operation.  Whatever the longer term aim might be (Zero Carbon, Net ZeroCarbon Neutrality, etc. – don’t get bogged down in this!), there are many short and medium term business benefits from action too.  Alignment with the Paris Agreement is the benchmark.

Important!  Committing to Net-Zero in 20-30 years time is far too easy to pledge (and, rightly, does not signal “leadership” to most).  Science dictates climate leadership = at least 50% emissions reduction by 2030!

Credible, cost-effective climate action depends on understanding where your carbon emission “hotspots” are – what gets measured, can ultimately get managed, reduced or eliminated entirely!

The Institute of Environmental Management + Assessment (IEMA), the professional Institute for Sustainable Business practitioners, in their Pathways to Net Zero guidance, demonstrates the urgency with which some businesses are declaring ambitious commitments.  It is also developing best practice on transition priorities and planning with tools to enable and optimise carbon emissions / greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions, and avoid costly pitfalls (for profit and planet); eg. carbon offsetting.

In response to the numerous global declarations of climate and ecological emergency, many businesses are already developing strategies and pathways to credible climate action – to let the world know that they get it, and they’re determined to be part of the solution.  Ultimately, businesses will be held responsible for their lifecycle emissions……

We’re passionate about cutting carbon emissions and resource consumption, and reducing associated costs.  Our recommended action starts with fully understanding emissions and impacts throughout the lifecycles of products or services.
